OUR STORY, OUR DESIRES TOGETHER WITH OUR VALUES

I started very soon in my life as an art passionate, fan and timid observer to sculpting artist of beach’s  stones and tree’s branches coming with the waves to the shore just in front of my home. I went higtly inspired and when enough growed-up i turned to be myself a producer of art-creatures like graffiti and paintings since teen. Moved from my birth intimate seaside bay’s tiny town to a bigger city i began to meet more tattooed people around me. Already at the age of 12 i turned obsessed by tattoos. There where lots of post-punk guys did wander everywhere in the street following the rites of guiltiness, traffics, streetfights lifestyle, robbish and drug addictions all around. Those guys did bear tattoos as badge of appartenance to their groups and to intimidate the others. Most of the times those marks where terribles, scary and obscure.  Raising in those punk teen-age scene where all tattoos i seen where done by scratchers, tats where in most of the cases creepy, violent and often dameged the skin was hard to me willing to follow this path, their subjects where dark and negative but useful for their aims. 

 At the age of 18 i seen the firsts decent tattoos and started my best apreciation to professional tattooing in the 1991, during a brief trip to Amsterdam where i was walking in red light district i met and visited the original Hanky Panky Tattoo Studio, for four entire days i enjoyed a powerest experience in my life. This place was full of authentic instruments, pictures, books, good music and all the atmosphere entered in me totally and i felt fastly and naturally at HOME, so familiar. I studied all the studio, i sitted there and way out only at the hour of closing time. Clients there did going on and off all the daytime and even till the night. Returning to Italy i promised to me to commit myself with good energy to achieve anything necessary, gather informations and material about it.. infact.. after that several miracles happened to me in a very brief period of time and i was able to buy my first tattoo machine from Nando Marini, an italian old timer engaged to traditional tattooing and building fantastic exemplars. 

I started drawing and going in deep trough using all sources availables, in every free time i began to have more conciousness about styles and menings of the traditionals and in some cases knowing more about tribal symbols.

 I started at the time to travel at established tattoo studios in Italy and attending all the firsts tattoo conventions in the entire country. In these occasions i enjoyed the giant work of the most famous masters from all around the world, apreciating at the first their humility and their straight effort to create tattoos with art and intelligence. Since then my improvents never had a stop or regrets. Since then i still wake up every day using all my passion in it and improving my skills and researches. 

My personal vision about tattoos do embrace the traditions of many historical cultures. The ancient groups of people that used to tattoo their bodies did create in the millennia quite a hundreds and hundreds of Styles, alphabets, deeping their purposes, rituals, symbols, menings and techniques. This ever  amazed me and gave to me the enthusiasm to learn more and more. I started collecting books, documentaries,  pictures and i visited hundreds of tattoo studio in every country did i travel, sharing informations and studying in detail every tattoo master’s experience, observing and apreciating the finess of them i choose to live tattoos as an art form, a great ethic bridge to respect and decorate bodies sensitively, using education and culture.

The ealth of the skin and the hygiene at the first place, followed by profound passion and curiosity for the mankind and their minds and desires to resolve with care. I do tattoos and pass all my time near to the clientele, learning and promoting all the borning magics.

I studied milions of different topics in this years and i hope never to stop.

My PHILOSOPHY in tattooing is quite simple: studying, learning, finding, experimenting, observing, sharing notions and time with people and travelling are only a fews of the basics. Developing as much as possible to do better and better every single day, growing my experience’s baggage.

Our approach at Markingegno Tattoo & Piercing Studio is adressed to the emphatic dialogue and comprehension of which our customers do imagine and desire and checking, observing books, design sources and renderings together with them to achieve their ideal results with calm and thankfulness.

A lot of tattooers nowaday use to cut-off anything goes out of their personal vision, promoting one and only their all Black T-shirts feature’s “style”, we think it’s an idiotic, unprogressive and selfish way to relate with the people’s personal preferences.

We do believe in gentleness and spirituality, even in a world of chaos and constant increasing rush.

The Ancient and the Oriental ways to tattoo inspired us a lot, most of the times the best artist do work in private studios, receiving their loyal followers in confortable, full privacy locations, more meditative and intimate environments where concentrate as much as possible the attention to the respectfull process. Far from the main streets, the commercial areas, consequentially involved in the social crazyness, fastness, vulgarities and vaquity, unfortunately cradles of distraction and superficialities. We walk instead in a separate way, loving and evolving our favorite use of the soul.
